The upcoming “Power Rangers” movie reboot cast is lead by Dacre Montgomery as Jason/Red Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack/Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly/Pink Ranger and RJ Cyler as Billy/Blue Ranger.
Like most of the actors cast as the new Rangers, the singer-actress can be considered a newcomer, with her credits going from various song performances for animated movies like “Hotel Transylvania” and “The Smurfs 2”.
“Brian Casentini, Saban Brands” head of development and production, and Cinderella producer Allison Shearmur will produce alongside Power Rangers creator Haim Saban.
Rumors are also rife related to the entry of Green ranger, but when and who will be seen playing that character has not been revealed yet. Being a loner, Trini is “is self-sufficient, contemplative, but always observant”.
After finalizing the names of Red, Black, Pink and Blue rangers, the makers of the upcoming “Power Rangers” movie have added another update and that too in the form of singer Becky Gomez aka Becky G by casting her as the Yellow Ranger, which means now we have all the five rangers on board.
The pop star made the announcement to her social media followers and posted the official image, released by Lionsgate Films, on her Instagram account. The film, which is slated for a 2017 release, is a spin-off of the wildly popular 1990s live action TV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Netflix has picked up “Power Rangers” for a 24th season of 32 episodes that is scheduled to premiere in 2017.
