Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette has been released from a hospital in Texas after Monday’s neck surgery, he announced on his Instagram account Thursday afternoon. In other words, the league didn’t feel that Heath targeted Lockette’s head or neck area with a dirty hit, but did confirm that the hit should have been called as it was on the field.

Just before halftime of Seattle’s 13-12 victory against Dallas on Sunday, Lockette lay motionless on the AT&T Stadium field for a few minutes following a vicious hit by Cowboys safety Jeff Heath during a Seahawks punt that resulted in a fair catch. He would never wish ill on anyone.

On a Vine video circulating around the worldwide web, wide receiver Dez Bryant looked to be yelling, “That’s what you get” while pointing at the Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin after running back Ricardo Lockette’s season-ending injury in his. He’s not that type of person at all by any means. Heath also said that he would not apologize for the hit during their Week 8 clash.

The 29-year-old underwent surgery the next day at Baylor University – and now, his father, Earl Lockette tells TMZ Sports he’s well on the road to recovery. I don’t like the outcome of the hit. Heath was flagged for an illegal blindside block on the play.

Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett was fined $20,000 for his late hit on Dallas quarterback Matt Cassel in that same game.

Lockette required surgery to stabilize ligament damage in his neck. Such fines are typically revealed on Friday.
