In Captain America: Reborn, it is revealed that Steve Rogers didn’t actually die, which means we could see him return at some point down the road, perhaps in Avengers: Infinity War. After decades of being the brainwashed Winter Soldier, he finally overcame HYDRA’s control in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and is on the run. In the comics, the latter two have taken on Captain America’s mantle. Youtube channel, That Hashtag Show, claims that they have “inside” information on Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War“. Fans of the Civil War comics probably know what this cryptic introduction refers to, but for everyone else, beware spoilers below.
“Captain America: Civil War” is all set to hit the theatres on April. 29, 2016 in the UK and on May 6, 2016 in the United States. “After Steve surrenders and is taken into custody he is killed, [although] Cap’s death is left a little ambiguous as to whether it has all been planned out or not”, as per Comic Book which cited unnamed sources. It stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Bruhl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, Paul Rudd and Martin Freeman. And it’s being called a smart way to generate some buzz. Since this is the world of comics, Steve was back in action a few years later, but his “death” is still one of the more shocking moments in Marvel history. Chris Evans still has two more movies on his Marvel contract, so we’re not sure how that will be handled if this is indeed the case wit the storyline. However, after another global incident involving the group of heroes results in collateral damage, politics enters the scene by imposing that a system of accountability and a governing body is needed to determine when to enlist the services of the team. We may have to wait a few more months before the big reveal is dropped.
