US automated forex broker Interactive Brokers said on Wednesday it has made several improvements to its Trader Workstation (TWS) platform, including adaptive algo order type and integration of external accounts, the broker said on Wednesday in a notice about its latest enhancements to the platform.
The broker has expanded its algo products with an adaptive algo order type, which, unlike the rest of the products of this type, adapts to market conditions, thus achieving faster fill at better execution prices, compared to regular limit or market orders.
Interactive Brokers has introduced PortfolioAnalyst, an online performance analysis and reporting tool. Traders can use the tool to see the current performance of all of their financial accounts, including such held at financial institutions outside of Interactive Brokers, such as investment, checking, savings, annuity, incentive plan and credit card accounts.
The brokerage has also introduced some other enhancements. Following is a list with the rest innovations added to the TWS platform:
- Portfolio Builder – allows traders to create and invest in custom-designed strategies and then track their performance in an existing portfolio.
- Bloomberg TV – TWS offers live, streaming news from one of the world’s most trusted sources for financial news and market information, Bloomberg.
- New Online API Documentation – Interactive Brokers’ new online application programming interface (API) documentation is hosted on GitHub.
- Apple Watch – support for Apple Watch has been added to TWS’ iOS mobile application and traders can check on their smartphones account metrics such as net liquidation, orders and trades, excess liquidity and their current positions. The broker announced this feature back in March.
The TWS platform allows trading in forex, stocks, options, futures, and futures options. It is available as a mobile application for Android an iOS, as well as a desktop application and a web-based platform. The platform allows standard orders and complex option spreads. It features real-time quotes, alerts and market scanners, in addition to advanced charts, order management tool BookTrader, SmartRouting technology for routing orders, and access to trade reports and account information.
