Do not invest more money than you can afford to lose.
US crowdfunding platform Kickstarter said on Wednesday it has enhanced its service with a new feature that enables investors to find more easily new projects that are relevant to them by following creators directly from their profiles.
Investors can browse creators and find ones of their liking and with the new feature they can follow them with a single click of the mouse. This way they will be informed when the creators they follow have launched a crowdfunding round for a new project. In addition, investors will receive information whenever a creator they follow has backed a project.
Creators will also benefit greatly from the new feature. They will be able to find backers and secure financing for their projects faster and more easily. The Follow feature is a way for them to connect with the Kickstarter community even after their initial project is complete.
Kickstarter, released in 2009, is among the leading US crowdfunding websites. It uses a reward-based model and focuses on projects of artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers, and other creators. The platform employs an all-or-nothing funding model.
The website has facilitated 262,615 creators and millions of backers worldwide. More than 313,000 projects have been launched on the website since its inception.
