Scammers are pretending to be representatives of forex portal FXStreet in an attempt to ask traders to provide their personal and bank details, the portal said earlier this week in a blog notice. They are sending out e-mails or social media messages from fake accounts, saying they are contacting users on behalf of FXStreet.
The blog warned that it does not manage third-party trading accounts and does not collect bank details.
An FXStreet investigation revealed that one of the scammers, Jordan Barta, has registered a domain and sent spam emails to traders asking for transfers and finance details under various names. The portal asked investors to be cautious and to contact the relevant authorities in case they come across such scammers.
