Russian software developer MetaQuotes said on Thursday it has implemented several slight changes to the web-based version of its MetaTrader 5 (MT5) multi-asset trading platform, making it faster and more convenient for use.
Following is a list of the upgrades introduced to the platform:
- Added the ability to re-size the web application blocks, including Market Watch and price chart windows.
- Added the ability to sort by columns in Trade and History tabs of Toolbox window. The column width can be changed.
- Added Details tab and the ability to quickly add a symbol.
- Increased the overall web terminal operation speed due to the code optimization. Account initialization, adding symbols and trading itself are now performed even faster.
MT5 is one of the most widely-used trading platforms for forex, contracts for difference (CFDs), options, futures, and equities trading instruments. It uses MQL5 programming language and grants access to several financial markets and stock exchanges through a single trading account. The platform allows automated trading, using Expert Advisors (EAs) and is available for desktop and mobile devices, as well as via the web after in May the platform developer released a web-based version.
MT5 features advanced charting package, trading and analysis tools, alerts, signals, and customizable indicators. It allows four types of order execution – Instant, Request, Market and Exchange. Recently its developer added hedging to the MT5 desktop and mobile platforms.
MetaQuotes has been actively enhancing MT5 and prompting both brokers and traders to switch to it from MetaTrader 4 (MT4), its predecessor. Both MT4 and MT5 are world industry leaders. Among the forex brokers that have MT5 in their offering are WhoTrades, Exness, FXTM, IC Markets, RoboForex, Windsor Brokers, Admiral Markets, and etc.
