Do not invest more money than you can afford to lose.
The German crowdfunding platform Kapilendo announced it has raised €7 million in a Series B funding round that was completed just before Christmas.
The main investor in the round is the pension fund for the Berlin Chamber of Dentists, together with Comvest Holding GmbH and FinLab AG.
According to Christopher Gratz, CEO and founder of Kapilendo, the investment will be primarily used for the expansion of the platform.
“Crowdlending is one of the most exciting fintech topics and will change the financing market in Germany. Kapilendo provides the best product on the market. The cooperation with the team has convinced us completely since our introduction. With our continued commitment, we want to actively support future growth,” said the CEO of FinLab Stefan Schutze.
Kapilendo was launched in 2015. Among the larger projects that obtained financing through it are the L’Osteria pizza and pasta restaurants, which reached its goal of €750 000 in 14 days. Another is a dentists’ practice – Dr. Hansen Dentists.
There are two financing options offered on Kapilendo. One is Kapilendo Credit, which is a credit marketplace for small and medium-sized projects. The other is Kapilendo Venture which is for venture investment in growing companies.
