Edge multi-crypto wallet goes live

Do not invest more money than you can afford to lose.

Edge Wallet, a new multi-asset wallet has gone live, after several months in a limited release beta, the company said.

It is a private, secure, open-source, wallet that supports multiple cryptocurrencies. It has a native support for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dash, Augur REP, and Wings tokens. The wallet app also allows users to manually add ERC-20 tokens that it does not support natively.

Additionally, the company says it will expand the number of natively supported cryptocurrencies, whenever the developers integrate their assets into the Edge wallet. Also, the wallet supports (SegWit) transactions for both Bitcoin and Litecoin.

Edga has also integrated support for the Shapeshift cryptocurrency exchange, which will allow users to seamlessly convert funds between the various digital assets and tokens supported by the app.

Edge or third parties have zero knowledge and zero access to user funds, keys or transaction data. The app offers simple account creation and using just login and password or fingerprint login and decentralized server architecture, which means that the wallets work even if the Edge servers are down.

According to the company blog post, after the live release of the app, the developers plan to migrate more of the rich functionality of Airbitz into Edge and in the next few releases will be included features like transaction history export, spending limits, and user selected nodes.

The app is also planning to offer the option to exchange fiat currencies for cryptocurrencies from within it.

The first product of Edge is the bitcoin wallet and business directory AirBitz in 2014, which has since shifted to a data security solution and multi-currency wallet.
