Two major regulated forex brokers – eToro and AvaTrade – have announced they are expanding their cryptocurrency portfolio with NEO and Bitcoin Gold (BTG) and EOS (EOS), respectively.
The Israeli forex broker and social trading platform developer eToro has added to its portfolio the altcoin NEO (NEO) – one of the native tokens of the NEO blockchain. This happens less than a week after the broker started offering Stellar Lumens.
Unlike most forex brokers, which only offer trading in cryptocurrency CFDs, eToro allows its clients to actually purchase the coin, with the company acting as a custodian and holding the coins for their clients. With the latest additions, now the eToro clients can trade in The full list consists of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, XRP, Litecoin, Ethereum Classic, Dash, Stellar, and NEO. Additionally, eToro offers crypto copy funds investment instruments in some of those cryptocurrencies.
“Already in 2018 we’ve seen attention shift away from mainstream cryptocurrencies and the market share of altcoins is increasing all the time. AvaTrade, on the other hand, has expanded its cryptocurrency portfolio with Bitcoin Gold and EOS. Along with these new additions, AvaTrade has also announced upgraded trading conditions across the board with lower spreads, decreased swap rates, and increased position sizes.
Unlike eToro, but similarly to most forex brokers, AvaTrade does not offer the coins themselves, but CFDs on the cryptocurrencies.
With the latest additions, AvaTrade clients can now trade in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Ripple, Litecoin, Bitcoin Gold and EOS.
