Don't gamble with money you cannot afford to lose
Monro is a newly launched casino, and that makes it quite attractive to play in. It also makes a good first impression with a cute mascot and a clean-looking and well-made website. And there are some definite upsides to this casino, too. For example, it has a pretty good amount of games to play, and you can bet on Sports too. It is licensed, and with one of the most popular regulatory bodies nowadays, at that.
But this is where the good aspects of the casino end. We actually consider its downsides to greatly outnumber its positive aspects. That is because the casino has pretty lackluster bonuses, and because of how terrible its payments policy is. Even though the minimum and maximum deposit amounts are fairly low, you can only cash in or out via crypto, and that is just needlessly restrictive in our opinion.
So is this casino worth playing at, or not? Well, to find out, let’s take a look at everything we just mentioned in a bit more detail:
Bonuses
The promotions which are available with Monro are listed below:
Bonus | Min deposit | Max bonus | Wagering requirements | Cash out limit |
First Deposit Bonus | $20 | 150% up to $600 | 40x | None |
Second Deposit Bonus | $20 | 400 spins | 35x | None |
Third Deposit Bonus | $20 | 75% up to $300 + 50 spins | 40x | None |
Monro Spin | $40 | 135 spins | 40x | None |
Monro Cash | $40 | 50% up to $400 | 40x | None |
Birthday Bonus | $50 | $750 | Unspecified | None |
This is a decent enough amount of Welcome bonuses with two weekly Reload bonuses and a special surprise for your birthday. Let’s go over each of these promotions in a bit more detail:
- Once you make your initial deposit, you are eligible to receive the First Deposit Bonus. This is a special promotion which grants you 150% of whatever you deposit, up to a maximum of $600. Overall, this is a rather high amount, and the rest of the conditions of the promotion are excellent. The minimum deposit required to get it is $20, which is quite competitive. Secondly, the wagering requirement you need to clear is 40x, which is in line with what other casinos demand, too. If you are not sure what a wagering requirement means, that is simply the amount of times you need to turn over a bonus before you can cash it out. The vast majority of casino bonuses nowadays have these requirements, and they are usually between 30x and 40x. As we said, Monro is within the reasonable amounts we see casinos demand most often, so this requirement is no cause for concern. There is no cash out limit, which means the house does not restrict how much one can win from the bonus.
- The next promotion you can claim after you have played through the previous one is called the Second Deposit Bonus. Unlike the First one, it awards the player with an amount of Free Spins, which is determined based on how much they cash in. The minimum deposit requirement of $20 will grant you just 25 Spins, and you need to cash in $240 to get the full amount of 400 of them. While this bonus is not as generous, it still has decent enough conditions, and the wagering requirement is set to just 35x, so there’s no reason to complain too much about it.
- Lastly, the Third Deposit Bonus rounds out the Welcome Package with a nice bonus of up to $300. This is calculated as 75% of the cashed in sum, and has another 40x wagering requirement.
- After the initial deposits are done with, you will be eligible to claim the Recurring bonuses. Each of the next two promotions is available only once per week. Let’s start with the Monro Spins. The minimum deposit requirement for this bonus is set to $40, which is a bit much, compared to other casinos. Depositing that gives you 25 Free Spins, and the maximum of 135 Spins requires you to cash in $400. We are not so sure this bonus is worth it! In fact, we consider it to be pretty poor, and a stark contrast from the excellent promotions we just covered. The wagering requirement is the same decent amount of 40x, at least!
- The Monro Cash bonus is a similarly underwhelming promotion. Once again, there is an extremely high minimum deposit requirement of $40. And once again, it gives the player more sizeable bonuses the more they deposit. The minimum deposit you can cash in gives you only a 20% of your funds as bonus money. To claim the full 50% bonus you need to cash in $150 or more! Still, the promotion is not as bad as the previous one, because bonus cash has more uses than Free Spins, and because you get more for your deposit from it. But as the primary recurring bonus of Monro, that is a pretty uncompelling promotion!
- Finally, the Birthday Bonus offered by the Monro mascot is actually really cool. It is tied to the VIP program of the house. Most casinos nowadays have such VIP programs, with the goal of making sure their loyal players have a reason for sticking around. The one with this casino features four account levels, and climbing each of them gives you certain benefits like priority withdrawals and so on. To get the Birthday bonus, all you need to do is reach the second level in this system, which means you simply need to verify your account and cash in once. As per the bonus, it requires you to have cashed in a cumulative $50 in the 180 days leading up to your birthday. The size of the promotion also scales with the account tier and is between $50 and $750, which the casino just hands you over if you have met the minimum deposit requirement! The only downside to the promotion is the fact that it does not mention its wagering requirement, but, given the fact the other requirements with the house were reasonable, we don’t doubt it is fine.
License
Here is what Monro has to say about its regulation:
This paragraph claims that the house is licensed by the Antillephone, one of the four regulatory bodies which oversee the egaming sector of Curacao. These are the most popular casino regulators and have become the most common places for new casinos to get licensed in. That is because they have all found a pretty unique balance between the interests of the casino operators and the players! Before we explain what the regulation over Monro means, though, let’s verify its license. That can be done fairly easily – if we can draw your attention to the screenshot above, you have certainly noticed the orange logo to the left side of the paragraph. This is actually the Digital Seal of the Antillephone, which casino operators are required to embed on their websites. Clicking on it brings up the following entry from the register of the body:
This page certifies that Monro is running on a licensed domain and is run by a licensed casino operator. Here is what this means for you, the player:
- There are tons of information which casinos collect, and they have good reasons for doing so. Verifying their players’ identities is one of the most important ways in which casinos can help fight money laundering. However, that information needs to be stored safely, and this is precisely why the Antillephone and the rest of the Curacao regulators have implemented specific security and encryption rules which casinos need to abide by! The way your personal details are stored with them means it is very unlikely for them to be leaked, or obtained by hackers.
- Secondly, licensed houses need to submit their games for audits, in order to be able to prove their outcomes are fair. These audits are performed by independent professionals who go over the games’ random number generators. Those generators are the complex mathematical algorithms which determine the outcome of each game. With these reviewed, you can be sure you are playing true games of chance, and that is only possible with licensed casinos!
- The third important aspect of regulation we’d like to touch on is the prevention of problem gambling. This is achieved via a variety of measures. Casinos need to provide players with sufficient information on what this kind of gambling looks like and where to seek help if they have developed such tendencies. And what’s more, they also need to offer players a variety of self-exclusion measures, which can be the player setting custom limits on their deposits or even closing down their account, if they feel the need to.
We always advocate for playing with licensed casinos like Monro, and you can see why. Back to our review of it, though, here is a list of the languages you can browse its website in, as well as the countries where it is not going to be available:
Languages: English
Restricted Countries: American Samoa, Aruba, Afghanistan, Belarus, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, the United Kingdom, Virgin Islands (US), US Minor Outlying Islands, Guadeloupe, Greenland, Guam, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Spain, Italy, Yemen, Cyprus, North Korea, Cote d’Ivoire, Curaçao, Mayotte, Macau, Malta, Martinique, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Pakistan, Puerto Rico, Réunion, Saint-Martin (France), Syria, Slovakia, the USA, France, French Guiana, Ethiopia;
Deposit and Withdrawal
The most significant issue with the casino in our view is the fact that it only has one method of payment available, and that is crypto. Usually, houses have a great variety of ways you can cash in, because players might have preferences for one payment method over another. And what’s more, crypto is very difficult to use, compared to conventional means of depositing. But if you want to play here, you will have to either know how to use it, or dedicate time to learn, which is not reasonable.
Regardless, the deposit conditions are not bad at all. They are outlined here, and the different currencies you can cash in are listed below:
Deposit method | Minimum | Maximum | Processing time | Fee |
Crypto | $10 | $100000 | Instant | Free |
Currencies: US Dollar (USD), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), Dogecoin (DOGE), Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), XRP
We should mention that you cannot cash in via USD, but that is the base currency of your account. This means that the casino will have you pay a conversion fee if you deposit via either one of these other tokens, which is not a competitive way to handle payments at all!
On the other hand, the minimum deposit amount of $10 is very low, compared to other casinos, and the maximum is enormous. There are no fees by Monro, but you’ll need to pay miner fees, as is the case with any transaction which involves crypto.
Let’s take a look at the withdrawal conditions as well:
Withdrawal method | Minimum | Maximum | Processing time | Fee |
Crypto | Unspecified | $6000 | up to 48 hours | Free |
We should mention that players are expected to turn over their deposits once before cashing out. That is usually what casinos require of you, and is just another step in their AML policies. This house has not specified its minimum withdrawal amount, but the maximum is $6000 daily, which is great. This maximum is also increased with the VIP level of your account, as we said before. The highest tier or account has no such limits, but there is a monthly maximum of $1 000 000 you need to comply with.
The processing times depend on the size of the withdrawals. They are normally up to 24 hours, but if you are trying to cash out over $1 250, you need to wait up to 48 hours for your identity to be verified by the casino. This is a decent enough policy, and the waiting times are not that long compared to other casinos.
There is no information about Monro charging any fee for inactivity.
Games and Game Suppliers
Below is a list of all the Game Suppliers this house features in its library of games:
Game providers: Neon Valley Studios, 2BY2 Gaming, Rabat, Merkur, Old School Studios, Gold Coin Studios, Golden Rock Studios, Snowborn, Foxium, Triple Edge Solution, Red Rake, Fortune Factory, Crazy Tooth Studio, 1x2gaming, Gamevy, Microgaming, Iron Dog Studio, Gameburger Studios, Reflex Gaming, Felix Gaming, all41studios, Spinplay Games, Just For The Win, Reel Life Games, Bang Bang Games, Retro Gaming, Petersons, Belatra, TrueLab, Bulletproof, Betsoft, Fugaso, CT Interactive, Mancala, Slotmill, Tom Horn, Smartsoft Gaming, 4ThePlayer, Endorphina, 3 Oaks, Thunderkick, Relax Gaming, Amatic, Push Gaming, Yggdrasil, Hacksaw, Nolimit, BGaming, NetEnt, 1spin4win, Spinomenal, Big Time Gaming, NetGame, Wazdan, Mascot, Evoplay, Zillion, Gamzix, PGSoft, Red Tiger Gaming, Gamebeat, Gamomat, Other;
This is a great amount of suppliers, as they number over 50. The benchmark for whether a casino’s games are enough is whether it has more than 50 such developers it partners with. Consequently, the library of Monro is actually quite vast. Here is what you can play:
- Slots: Some of the most popular games in this category are missing, and you cannot play Big Bass Bonanza, Gates of Olympus or Wolf’s Gold. There are games like Book of Vlad, Big Bamboo, Lucky Dice Cloverland and many more instead, separated into three categories. There are Bonus Buy slots, Books and Fruits slots which can be browsed separately, for easier navigation.
- Table Games: Baccarat, Poker, Blackjack, Roulettes and Sic Bo can be played, but only with live dealers. We don’t see why Monro does not have virtual dealer games, but its collection of table games classics is otherwise pretty great.
- Game Shows: Speaking of Live gaming, you can tune in to Crazy Time, Funky Time or Dream Catcher with this casino. These televised casino experiences can be found in the Live casino section of its website.
- Instant games: There is a collection of popular Crash games here, like Aviator, Mines, Plinko and so on.
We’d also like to mention that Monro has a sportsbook, but that feels like an afterthought. There are no bonuses for it, as you have surely noticed, and the amount of events there are to be wagered on is just not great. Nevertheless, the sportsbook supports prematch betting and live betting on a variety of games, from Football to Gaelic sports. There is also a decent amount of Esports to bet on if you are into that, too!
Conclusion
All in all, this is not a bad casino, but there are certain aspects of it which have been done better by other houses. These include the payment methods of Monro which are needlessly restrictive and its rather underwhelming bonuses. We recommend staying away from this casino, unless you are comfortable with cashing in and out of it via crypto, and playing at one which can offer you a better time!
