US-based Foreign Exchange Professionals Association (FXPA) said on Tuesday it has included Jump Trading as its newest governing council member. The broker is the only FXPA member with such status.
Jump Trading, set up in 1999 in the US, has offices in Chicago, New York, London, and Singapore. The company offers trading in all major asset classes on multitudes of electronic exchanges around the world.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to participate in FXPA, which promotes active discussions around the most pressing matters in the changing FX space,” said Mark Bruce, head of FICC at Jump Trading.
FXPA has several different membership categories – founders council, governing council, supporting members, associate members, and advisory members. A governing council membership is offered to new members as the top-tier of membership below the original founders’ council.
These membership categories came into effect with the beginning of 2016. Following is a table with more details about FXPA’s memberships:

The FXPA was set up in September 2014 in the US as a trade body uniquely comprised of a cross-section of forex companies. Its purpose is to engage key US and international regulators, policymakers, the general public and news media, through a combination of education, research and advocacy to advance a sound, liquid, transparent and competitive global currency market. The association considers issues like global forex market regulation, risk controls, execution quality, post-trade reporting, and benchmark rates.
