Pakistan’s cricketing authorities have indicated that they could boycott next year’s World Twenty20 tournament if the planned India-Pakistan series this December does not go ahead. Shukla’s comments came one day after PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan told a in Lahore that chances of the series being held in December were very remote.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called on its Indian counterpart Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seeking a rescheduled meeting to discuss the proposed bilateral series in the United Arab Emirates in December. Khan also complained about getting cold shoulder treatment from the Indian Board officials.

“In the letter the PCB Chairman has pointed out that the PCB delegation went to India on the invitation of the BCCI and still didn’t get the required hospitality”, the source said.

In addition to talks being scrapped, Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar was withdrawn from India’s home series with South Africa by the worldwide Cricket Council (ICC).

However, extremists of Shiv Sena party sabotaged the scheduled meeting at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai when around 40 to 50 individuals stormed the venue of the meeting prior to its start.

Rejecting the statement by Sethi, Shehryar said that Sethi hastened to speech.

“India hasn’t confirmed or said anything but are delaying it. We will have to decide that this series can’t happen, and after that we will decide what our policy is”.

But Shukla, who is also the chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL) said that the BCCI was looking forward to the continuation of talks between the cricket chiefs of both the Boards after the on-going India vs South Africa ODI series ends on October 25.
