Emily Blunt’s ‘Girl on the Train’ Set for Oct. 7 Release

Do not invest more money than you can afford to lose.

Sicario’s Emily Blunt will be playing Rachel, while Mission: Impossible 5’s Rebecca Ferguson will play rival Anna, the former mistress and then wife of Rachel’s ex-husband Tom, played by Theroux.

The role was originally lined up for Chris Evans, who ran into scheduling conflicts, and whose Captain America charms seemed to lend themselves well to a role as a seemingly perfect ex.

Now with Theroux taking that role, and Jared Leto set for the other major male role as the husband of a woman who has disappeared, the men of The Girl on the Train seem to be headed in a different direction from the book: sexy and dangerous, even in suburbia.

During her repetitive journey, she becomes obsessed with a couple that she sees every day as the train passes their home and begins dreaming about their lives and trying to find out more about them.

“The Girl on the Train” is the fourth title set for October 7 after Warner Bros.’ “The Accountant”, Universal’s “Monster High” and Fox’s “Gambit”. It was the #1 book on the New York Times bestseller list for 19 weeks following its release.

Along the way, she becomes entangled in a mystery revolving around the couple. She watches them on their deck and often fantasizes about their lives. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. When Rachel thinks she’s witnessed a murder, matters take a turn for the worse when she realises that she may have been involved in the crime. Has she done more harm than good?
