Do not invest more money than you can afford to lose.
The Minnesota city with the most expensive housing is Orono, a west metro suburb near Lake Minnetonka.
Palo Alto ranked second in the nation with an average listing price of $2,066,600. Today, Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, the original Silicon Valley real estate startup founded in 1906, released its annual HLR, revealing that half (50) of the top 100 most expensive markets in the United States are in California, with Newport Beach topping the list where the average listing price of a four-bedroom, two bathroom home is $2,291,764.
It found the average price for that home in Minnesota is $430,488 – the fourth most expensive in the country behind Hawaii, MA and California.
Newport Beach, California, where a four-bedroom home lists, on average, for $2.29 million, topped Coldwell Banker’s report for 2015.
These days, if you’re going to San Francisco be sure to bring more than flowers in your hair-seven of the eight most expensive cities to buy a house in the USA are all in the Bay Area.
Forty-five of the 100 most affordable markets are in Midwest states.
Potomac, Rockville, Chevy Chase and Gaithersburg did not appear in the report because those markets did not have more than 10 four-bedroom, two bath listings on Coldwell Banker’s website in the previous year, according to David Siroty, a Coldwell Banker spokesman. And finally, a few caveats about the report.
The Coldwell Banker 2015 Home Listing Report used the prices of 81,000 homes in the company’s listing database to determine the average listing price of four-bedroom, two bathroom homes in more than 2,700 markets in the country. Markets without at least 10 four-bedroom, two bathroom listings on coldwellbanker.com between December 2014 and June 2015 were excluded from the ranking.
