Do not invest more money than you can afford to lose.
Many first responders later fell ill or died as a result of working on the sight, where chemicals and toxins filled the air. McConnell has backed a similar bill in the past, his reluctance to support the Zadroga Reauthorization Act has been apparent for quite some time, and instead of meeting with Stewart and the first responders, he’s been an obstacle for the group.

A retirement bearded and casually t-shirted Jon Stewart made a surprise return to The Daily Show last night to blast congress for an issue very close to his heart. In fact, there is still no permanent law to help the more than 33,000 people who are still getting 9/11 related medical care.
Later as the two bantered, Noah asked “Are you here to take the show back?”
The legislation still hasn’t been renewed, and NY legislators have been busy trying to rally their colleagues to pass a long-term extension of the law so those at the mercy of Congress don’t have to worry about their health care disappearing every few years. It’s being held up in Congress, by House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, he explained to an incredulous Trevor Noah, who mostly played straight man. “It’s shortly going to be out of money”, Jon stated. “Mitch McConnell of Kentucky pulled it out of the transportation bill when he didn’t get concessions about loosening oil export regulations”. “Now it’s just you and I”.
“These guys are all dying, so we would like to stop that”, he deadpanned to Portman’s communications director.
“The Daily Show“, now hosted by Trevor Noah, didn’t announce a guest for Monday, but staff informed the studio audience that something special was about to happen. Ultimately, it worked so Stewart concluded that shame might actually be effective.
The hitch: Three of the four emergency workers who had originally appeared were absent. Seventy-five percent of the panel is no longer here.
Noah and Stewart concluded by urging viewers to take up the cause on social media using the hashtag #worstresponders.
