AlgoTrader, a provider of algorithmic trading solutions, said on Tuesday it will release an updated version of its algorithmic-trading platform, which will feature one-click installation and deployment, using Docker’s technology. This will allow AlgoTrader’s installation and running on production servers with a single command within minutes.
The updated version of AlgoTrader will be released in a few weeks and will be available for devices with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.
Prior to partnering with Docker, AlgoTrader’s installation took up to an hour, since users had to individually install each component – the platform’s server and trading strategies, Java, MySQL Database, ActiveMQ, Maven, Flyway, and IB Gateway.
Now, things will be simplified AlgoTrader’s components will built into lightweight components and the installation process will be streamlined.
In addition, AlgoTrader’s users can also take use of Docker Cloud, a hosted service for Docker container management, where they can manage and deploy the trading platform. 
Docker is an open-source platform for for developers and system administrators for building, shipping and running distributed applications. It specializes in providing containers and containerization, open source services, virtualization, system administration, scaling, etc.
Docker’s technologies are also used by many international companies, including eBay, Yelp, Spotify, Groupon, ING, the BBC, Goldman Sachs, and Baidu.
AlgoTrader is an algorithmic trading platform for forex, options, futures, stocks, commodities, and exchange-traded funds (ETF). It features automated trading and several built-in algorithmic strategies, but it can also be customized to meet users’ needs and requirements. Its clients include investment banks, hedge funds and proprietary traders.
