Do not invest more money than you can afford to lose.
The French regulator Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) published a list of new websites offering trading in binary options without authorization. The websites on the list have been recently found and the regulator could not identify an authorized investment services provider behind them.
Here is the list:
A check of the SMN staff found that with a few exceptions, the websites are still active. Some of them offer their services in English, while others – in French. Neither of them provides verifiable information on their regulation and some of the sites even look strikingly alike.
AMF notes that the list is not exhaustive as new unauthorized binary options brokers appear all the time. The regulator suggests that clients check the register of financial agents (https://www.regafi.fr) or the list of authorised intermediaries in the financial investment advisor (FIA) or participating investment adviser (PIA) categories (https://www.orias.fr/search). If the intermediary is not in those official registries, the AMF strongly recommends that investors do not use their services, as they are breaching the law and the rules of investor protection are not applicable.
The majority of financial regulators in the world release warnings of unregulated binary options brokers that spring up like mushrooms after the rain. Most recently, several of the provincial financial regulators in Canada published a warning the binary options trading is not allowed in the country. In the US it is permitted, but is restricted only to exchange-traded binary options.
