Forex Robotics Corporation, a Japanese software developer, announced it is planning to launch a forex trading app designed for the humanoid robot Pepper. It would enable the robot to trade in forex and other financial products, using its AI.
For the purpose, the demonstration will use Oanda Japan’s FXTtrade trading platform on a real and a demo account. The forex broker, however, is not otherwise involved in the project, Forex Robotics notes.
Besides the forex trading app, the software company will demonstrate three other applications it has developed for Pepper: for live translation and conversation to and from English, Chinese, German, French and Spanish, an application for protection against computer viruses and a conversation app.
Pepper is a humanoid robot developed by Aldebaran Robotics and SoftBank Mobile and was launched in 2014. Its makers claim they made it to be a day-to-day companion that has the ability to recognize human emotions, faces and voices and act accordingly. It went for sale in Japan in February last year for JPY 198 000 (around USD 1930). It is already used in stores and recently was adopted by Japan’s Mizuho Bank as a receptionist at its branches. Some families in Japan have also bought one.
