Trading software developer MetaQuotes Software released over the weekend an update to the iOS mobile version of its MetaTrader 4 (MT4) trading platform, replacing the chat interface with one similar to those used in popular messaging applications. The new design applies for both MQL5.community messages and push notifications from the desktop platform.
As part of the update, MT4 mobile app users with iOS devices can easily switch between any of the 22 languages in which the platform is available without changing their device language settings.
MT4 is the world’s most widely-used forex trading platform. It is available as a desktop and mobile device, as well as a web-based platform. It allows trading in forex, contracts for difference (CFDs), and futures. Traders can download ready-made or create their own trading robots (Expert Advisors, or EAs), scripts and custom indicators in the MQL programming language. With its outstanding charting package, auto-trading capabilities and signal copying, the platform is user-friendly and even novice traders can easily find their way around it.
In the recent months, however, Russia-based MetaQuotes has been pushing its other trading, MetaTrader 5 (MT5), ahead with new updates and features. The developer has been prompting both brokers and traders to switch to MT5 from its predecessor. Unlike MT4, MT5 features functions for stock market traders.
