Orbex, a Cyprus-regulated contracts for difference (CFDs) broker, said on Thursday it has started offering the web-based version of the MetaTrader 4 (MT4), the most widely-used forex trading platform.
The MT4 WebTrader is available to all Orbex clients as of 4 October. In addition, Orbex clients have access to the other, non-web versions of the MT4, as well as multi-asset trading platform Delta Flow for professional and institutional clients.
The web-based platform was released in September 2015. In addition, there are desktop and mobile application, as well. Unlike the other versions, the WebTrader doesn’t need the installation or download of any additional software, since it is accessed directly from any browser.
MT4 is developed by Russia fintech company MetaQuotes, which is also the developer of the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform. It is the world’s most widely-used trading platform that provides access to forex, contracts for difference (CFDs) and futures. It is used by the majority of forex brokers, including those that offer their own platforms.
MT4 users can download ready-made or create their own trading robots (Expert Advisors, or EAs), scripts and custom indicators in the MQL programming language. With its outstanding charting package, auto-trading capabilities and signal copying, the platform is user-friendly and even novice traders can easily find their way around it.
Orbex is an online broker of CFDs on currencies, commodities, futures and indices. It holds a license by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) and is registered with the relevant authorities in a number of EU countries, including the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, France, etc.
