US automated forex broker Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ: IBKR) published its monthly communique on the most recent developments, financial products and enhancements of its Trader Workstation trading platform.
Among the more interesting products is the launch of forex CFDs, in addition to spot forex. They are traded like spot forex and feature direct access to interbank quotes, an ECN-like market structure and automatic overnight position rolls. They can be traded on the optimized FXTrader platform. It features over 20 order types and algos. The forex CFDs are available to all Interactive Brokers’ clients, except those in USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.
The brokerage also announced the launch of Greenwich Advisor Compliance Services Corp. According to the company statement, this is a new resource for experienced investors and traders who wish to start their own investment advisory firm. Greenwich Compliance would assist advisors trading on the IB platform with their registration and compliance needs.
Interactive Brokers has also made several enhancements to its trading platform.
The IBot lets customers enter commands in Trader Workstation in simple text. With IBot, users can access quotes and charts and even enter orders and trades. The broker promises further enhancements to the IBot, including voice recognition for mobile devices.
The enhancements to the PortfolioAnalyst let traders view sector performance at a glance. The upgrade also features expanded reporting capabilities with heat maps to show sector and symbol performance and new color-coded bar chart to show performance by asset class.
IB FYIs are notifications customized based on each customer’s trading activity and portfolio. The Options Exercise FYI, for example, can notify traders about the last trading date for options positions they hold.
The IB Feature Explorer helps traders quickly locate all the tools and information IB offers, like trading and risk management tools and custody and clearing services. It is accessible from the home page and every menu on the broker’s website.
Also recently Interactive Brokers started offering the fundamental research tools of New Constructs.
