Canadian multi-asset financial brokerage Questrade said on Wednesday it intends to launch a Mac-compatible version of its flagship trading platform IQ Edge. The move is in response to customer requests and the high popularity of Apple products globally and in Canada, where the broker’s main operations are.
“For the past few months, we’ve been hard at work developing a Mac version of IQ Edge, our trading platform for active and pro traders. We’re excited to announce that we are giving you exactly what you want this holiday season,” the broker said in a notice.
The Mac version has the same trader experience and features the same functionalities as the other desktop version of the platform (for Windows). It will have custom trading environments, advanced trading orders, options trading layouts, profit and loss calculator, VWAP and volatility studies, conditional orders, and stock screeners, among other features.
The broker has already completed testing and the Mac version of IQ Edge has received positive feedback from testers. More than 80% of the people who tested IQ Edge for Mac said that they are very likely or somewhat likely to keep using it as their primary trading platform going forward, the broker noted.
The Mac version will run on desktops with the following parameters:

It is available for download free of charge and can be installed on any desktop device, as well as as a mobile trading app (IQ Mobile) and a web-based platform (IQ Web).
