Exness, a EU-regulated forex broker in Cyprus and the UK, announced it is increasing the leverage for over 50 exotic forex pairs to 1:200.
Previously, the max leverage for them was either 1:50 or 1:100. For several other exotic pairs with a old leverage of 1:20 or 1:50, the new one is 1:100.
According to the company statement, the changes are part of the fifth installment of trading improvements. “Lowering the margin requirements for such a wide selection of exotic currency pairs gives small investors the opportunity to enter the market accessing a more diverse range of currency pairs, without having to sustain higher margin requirements”, Exness noted.
The broker explains that the decision to move against the industry convention requiring higher margins for trading in exotic forex pairs is driven by the desire to offer the best trading conditions and be an industry leader.
Exness, set up in 2008, offers trading in more than 120 currency pairs via the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5) trading platforms. The brokerage is licensed by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) and since recently by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). It is also registered with the relevant regulatory bodies in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Italy, and Sweden. The broker used to have a license from the Belize International Financial Services Commission (IFSC), but no longer does.
