MetaQuotes Software has updated the mobile app for iOS devices of its most popular trading platform – MetaTrader4 (MT4). The most important new addition is the introduction of a PIN code for accessing the application, which would improve the account security, even if the user loses their device.
The new option is accessible through the “Lock Screen” menu in the application settings. According to the developer, by default the PIN code is similar to the one used to access the one-time password generator.
Besides the new security feature, the updated version includes multiple improvements and fixes.
The MT4 mobile app for iOS devices offers more or less the same functionality as its desktop version. It provides real-time quotes of financial instruments, full set of trader orders, including pending orders, all types of trade executions. Trade from the chart option is available on the iPad version of the app.
The MT4 for iOS devices offers the majority of the advanced functionality of the desktop version, including high-performance charts, trade levels, information window that displays orders, trading history, etc., free financial news. There are also technical analysis tools, such as real-time price charts, the 30 most popular technical indicators, analytical objects and three types of charts.
The MT4 trading platform remains the most popular product of MetaQuotes and is still used by the majority of forex brokers across the world, in spite the recent updates of its other product – the MetaTrader 5 platform. Its most recent version has finally started offering the hedging option.
