Indiegogo, one of the largest US crowdfunding platforms by funds raised, which also has global operations, announced it is now supporting the Apple Pay service in Apple’s web browser Safari.
The browser is available by default in all Apple products – iPhone, iPad and the Mac laptops, but can also be installed on PC. Users can now back the crowdfunding campaigns on Indiegogo with just a touch and is quick, easy and secure. They can use either TouchID or double click the AppleWatch feature to provide payment, shipping and contact information, without having to fill in forms or type in shipping address information.
Indiegogo is a reward-based crowdfunding platform in which financial backers get a gift or a discount for the product or service offered, instead of equity in the company offering it. The platform launched support for the Apple Pay system in 2014, when it was only a mobile payment application. Indiegogo also accepts payments with credit cards, debit cards, and ACH payments drawn directly from contributors’ bank accounts.
Apple Pay works with iPhone 6 and later in stores, apps, and websites in Safari; with Apple Watch in stores and apps; with iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3 and later in apps and websites; and with Mac in Safari with an Apple Pay enabled iPhone 6 or later or Apple Watch.
