Do not invest more money than you can afford to lose.
According to the prestigious e-FX awards by top industry publication FX Week, OANDA offers world’s Best Retail FX Platform, outperforming a bunch of competitors, including last year’s winner – Interactive Brokers (also being the largest FX broker in terms of market cap).
OANDA was named best retail forex trading platform, since it combines state-of-the-art technology and exceptional execution across a wide range of asset classes. The broker enables its clients to trade global market currencies, indices, commodities, and precious metals on its proprietary fxTrade and the famous MetaTrader 4. Both platforms are available as Android and iOS apps. What is more, earlier in may the broker adopted yet another trading platform – Protrader Multi-Connect (PTMC).
Over the last two years the company has invested in its technology infrastructure to reduce latency in the system and achieve institutional-grade execution speeds. This has been rolled out in Australia, China and the UK. By October, the US and the rest of Asia will be covered. According to OANDA`s website, its platform executes 98% of trades within 0.057 seconds or less, which really is super-fast.
Ed Eger, President & CEO of OANDA Corporation, says, “We are truly honoured to receive this distinguished award, especially given the competition was so fierce this year. As a FinTech firm, we continually strive to improve our technologies in order to better serve clients and enhance their trading experience. This year alone we’ve already launched an all-new advanced charting html 5 package, introduced multiple mobile enhancements and begun the global rollout of our new state-of-the-art platform featuring institutional-grade execution speeds. As such, this award represents the very essence of the 20-year transformation OANDA has undertaken.”
The broker’s clean record also contributed to the top spot achieved. Ed Eger said that Oanda has never broken or repriced trades in the past, and they certainly didn’t do this during the SNB crisis or Brexit, which shook financial markets recently. Actually, the broker reported post-Brexit spike in trading.
Among the other companies awarded at the e-FX Awards are Abu Dhabi-based ADS Securities, which won Best Prime-of-Prime Provider, Institutional forex broker Hotspot FX, part of BATS Global Markets (BATS:BATS), which was named Best e-FX Trading Venue and Best FX Hedging Platform.
FX Week’s e-FX Awards recognise excellence and innovation across 18 categories. Now in its 13th year, the 2016 the venue focuses on quality, rather than quantity and traded volumes. The winners were decided by a board of industry experts, each of whom spent time carefully exploring the platforms and speaking with clients of each nominated brokerage before finally determining the winner.
