MetaTrader 4, also known as MT4, is an electronic trading platform, developed by Russian software company MetaQuotes.
Millions of traders of all skill levels prefer the MT4 and that is why the majority of brokerages support it. The MT4 platform is user-friendly and offers all tools and resources needed to analyze financial markets and trade forex, CFDs and related products: advanced charting package, a number of built-in technical indicators, integrated live news, extensive back-testing, and algorithmic trading options (Expert Advisors).
The software uses a proprietary scripting language, MQL4/MQL5, which enables traders to create Expert Advisors (EAs), custom indicators and scripts of their own, if they are handy with code. Of course, one can buy ready-made at the extensive MT4 Market.
